October is National Women’s Small Business Month! Just this week, Healthy Roots Hemp officially became a certified Women Owned business. The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs. Their mission is to fuel economic growth globally by identifying, certifying, and facilitating the development of women-owned businesses. They do this through their CORE platform:

WBENC Certification validates that our business is at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To achieve WBENC Certification, we completed an extensive, formal documentation and site visit process. WBENC Certification gives women owned businesses the ability to compete for real-time business opportunities provided by WBENC Corporate Members and government agencies.

We need more female business owners in all industries, but especially in the cannabis and hemp industries. We hope we can inspire other women to realize their dreams, start new businesses, continue growing their current businesses (don’t give up, you got this!), and change the landscape of the industry for future generations.
